Rangoli is an art form, originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. It is usually made during Deepavali, Onam, Pongal and other Hindu festivals.
I have made a lot of rangolis and very fine rangolis takes atleast 4 to 5 hours to complete. I have also participated in a some competitions. Oflate I have tried to experiment different types of rangolis and some of the samples are provided above in the gallery.
